Your trainer for the Calm Self Workshop
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of California and Virginia in the United States. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master’s degree in Social Work (Clinical). My graduate training concentrated on studying psychotherapy theory and practice, recognizing the social and economic environments in which people evolve. I have taught small and large workshops as well as university courses and have trained other therapists to help them work with their clients.
I have over 15 years of clinical experience including working in a psychotherapy office, hospital setting, nursing home, and a university counseling center.
Over the years I focused my interests and training on ways to help my clients calm their internal systems with the knowledge and understanding based on research regarding how brain and body states influence how people feel about themselves and their ability to reach their goals.
In addition to my graduate degree in social work, I have specialty training in breathwork, childhood trauma, couples therapy, relational attachment, substance use disorders, Mindful Self Compassion, and am trained in teaching Mindfulness. In addition, I am an informed Highly Sensitive Person therapist.
My work is also informed by the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Allan Schore, Bruce Perry, and others.
In this educational workshop, I will be sharing my knowledge on how to help regulate internal nervous systems, specifically related to the Autonomic Nervous System, to help you feel better about your internal processes, how to calm systems to help with thinking clearly and to help attachment experience both with your self and others.
